Subject: BIOS quirk

In addition to the upgrade questions that I posted, I also have a problem.

Every time I power up the laptop, after the BIOS displays the window with the system configuation, it goes into the standby mode. I have attempted to remove the CMOS battery and reset the BIOS but it has been unsuccessful. It is not the Harddisk because I have tried powering up without the harddisk installed.

I have 2 questions:

1. Will flashing the BIOS clear out the bug?

2. If I were to flash the BIOS with the latest revision, from 1.03 to 1.09, will that damage the BIOS?

Note that this was a warning read on Twinhead's support site.
