Scott,
I'd suggest two things if you end up with a Voyager XII.
First, carry a replacement speedometer cable and know how to replace it. Its failure will not have you sitting on the side of the road but it drives the Cruise and that is nice to have at all times.
Second, remove the fuel pump on a regular basis and make sure the points (contacts) are not pitted (file them). I used to do mine during my annual, winter preventive maintenance process. The fuel pump is a vibrator type transfer pump with a set of contact points in the end. The contacts get pitted over time (40K miles or so) and don't vibrate. When that happens you will be sitting on the side of the road. By the way, this is also a good time to replace the fuel filter (NAPA #3095 as I recall).
Other than that, ride it and have fun.
