Well I'll be honest, when I read about the rally in Bowling Green, the first thing I said to my wife was "why the heck are they setting the rally next to an amusment park and a race track"? I'm envisioning noise, traffic, screaming kids...not really my idea of fun. I can't see going to the rally and then spending hours standing in lines at an amusment park to go on rides. For god's sake, I ride a Voyager XII, amusement park rides are like sitting on a couch! :)Enough said about that. I'm sorry to criticize, but that's the way I feel about it. I realize that I'm not going to 'love' every rally decision. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to try and decide every year where to go. You're doing a great job at it.

On to the answer to the question...We've been to the St. Ignace and Rapid City rallies. Both have been great fun and real experiences. We met lots of new friends, I love checking out all the accessories people have put on their bikes, but I have to admit, our most fun at both rallies has been the rides and the sights we've seen. We would have never believed Michigan was such a beautiful state and the trip to Rapid City was fantastic.

We've had the wonderful luck of hooking up with a few couples that we've become friends with. We all took day rides to all the sites together instead of going with a large group. For me, it was very enjoyable and we really got to know each other.

This year, we're not going to the Bowling Green rally. Now that we've become comfortable riding from Buffalo NY all the way to Rapid City, we're thinking of taking 2 weeks and going to the Grand Canyon. I don't think there's anything wrong with missing a year but I just don't think the Bowling Green area is our 'cup of tea'. I suspect that the following year will be back out west somewhere and we'll hook back up for that rally.
