I have not found a good apllicator, but there are too many differing opinions on what is a good lube for the cables. The stuff I use is in the garage, and since it is -8 this morning I won't go look at it. I bought it for my dirt bikes, so you can probably find it at:

Any cable lube should be good enough for what we do. A lot of people will argue about air tool oil, silicone sprays, WD-40 (not good in my opinion) and 3-in-1 oil. I remember an older gentleman saying he used, used motor oil for lubricating thing like cables and had for ever. Another not so good idea in my opinion.
