I've offered to start a new addition to the AVA website which will be a photo storing and viewing improvement as compared to using the message board to display photos. You can find the link on the homepage of the AVA on the bottom left side under 'Sister Sites'. It's called AVA Photo Adventures.
Here's how it works:
Instead of entering your photos onto the message board where they will disappear in a few days, this new website will store all the photos we want indefinitely for viewing by anyone who visits the AVA website. It keeps them in organized, albums so the photos are easy to find.
This new, separate but 'linked' website will be used for viewing and storing photos of; chapter events, rides, local chapter rallies, AVA annual rallies, bike shows, and any other events that would be interesting to share with other AVA members (and others who view the AVA website).
The website uses 'Albums' to identify each group of photos and clicking on any album will open a new page which displays all the photos in that album. At that point, you can view them all in a full screen slide show or click on them one at a time to view the larger image.
The only requirement is that you send me by e-mail your photos so I can add them to the web page as a new album. You can give me any descriptions you'd like and the size of the photo should be at least 150kb to 300kb in size. If it's smaller than that, it's ok but it won't be a large on the screen viewing as it could be. If they are much larger and there are a lot of photos, it will take a while to download in e-mail.
I've taken the liberty of copying Marty from Texas' photos from a recent message he sent today to give an example of what it looks like. Marty, if you don't want me to keep them in the album, let me know and I'll remove them right away.
I've also added an album showing some winter pictures of the Niagara river in Buffalo NY this weekend and 3rd album of photos Karen and I took during our Rapid City trip last summer to our AVA Rally.
Let me know if you think there's a benefit to this or if your interested in giving it a try.
I'd also appreciate any suggestions you may have to improve it.
Thanks,
Wayne
