 Things are going well here in Florida. We had a gathering of six of us at a Flying J restaurant in Fort Pierce on 12 Jan 08 just to enjoy a lunch together. The week before (5 January 2008) we had a nice (though somewhat wet) ride. It was at the 12 January gathering that we tentatively decided to meet again on 1 March 2008.

Since that time, Mike Biggerstaff has been in contact with Mike McGee, the AVA Safety Director as well as a Florida resident. Mike McGee has contacts inside of Kawasaki and has arranged for us to have a meeting at the Kawasaki Display Area at Daytona Motor Speedway (more on how that was pulled off can be read about in the Jan-Feb Voyager Voice).

This meeting is targeted for anyone living in the Southeast but if everyone from the AVA is welcome. Bring your AVA member cards! Anywhere from 1-3 new AVA chapters may form as a result of this meeting. The more people who show up, the more we show Kawasaki that there are many of us out there that are interested in the development of a 21st Century Voyager.

I will let the letter that Mike McGee wrote on AVA letterhead speak for the rest (please see the photo of the letter below).

I thought I’d also let you see some picture of us here in the Sunshine State. I posted the pictures several days ago but it might not have made it so I will attach again.

Anyone who is coming up from destinations farther South than Exit 191 can take a break at our house. Daytona Motor Speedway is at Exit 261.

Since Kawasaki is expecting us on 1 Mar 08 at 11:00 AM than things are pretty much set in concrete. So please ride your Voyager or other two-wheeled conveyance, or if weather doesn’t permit than take your cage. Either way it will be good to see everyone there and it should be a memorable event!
