I have a regional wrench session every winter. The only problem it is me and my Voyager. I do fluid changes for the brakes and clutch every winter on all of the motorcycles and cars. That is 8 vehicles with brake fluid changes. I check the brake pads for wear and replace any if needed. On some vehicles it is the winter for replacing the engine coolant and other years it is not. I don't think I have any needs for fork oil replacement this winter, as I did all of my motorcycles, including my dirt bikes, last winter.

I will strip off body parts and check the frames for cracks or damage, and do touch up on the paint to reduce the chance of rust starting on the underside of a frame.

This year I have a Suzuku SV650S that I am learning as I have only had it for a few months, so I will be checking everything I possibly can on it, so I can ride the crap out of it after the first good rain of the spring to get rid of all of the loose sand.

I am also changing the oil in all of the motorcycles right before the spring season is upon us.

This winter is also designing a golf club carrier for the XII, my neighbor's Honda VTX1800 Custom and possibly a Vulcan (1500????)that his brother owns, but it is 300 miles away from me right now.

I heat a 16 x 30 section of my garage for my motorcycles and bicycles on the weekends or nights to work on things. When I do the cars and trucks in the winter it is done in the cold side of the shop, so I take a small heater with me to warm up my hands from time to time.

A hint to everyone to help keep their feet warm during the cold winter shop times. Take some padded carpet remnants to put under you while working in the area. It works as an insulator to keep your feet off of the cold concrete floor. I also have a 3/4" rubber matte that I have when I am working at my drill press or work bench for the same reason. It also helps with the feet and back pains.

HAVE FUN WINTER WRENCHING!!!!!!!!
