I had Russells on three of my Beemers. What has been said is true -- if you are looking to do long miles, day after day after day, they are very good seats.
The originator -- Bill Mayer II (deceased) -- has two sons who are currently in the business. Bill (Rocky) Mayer III and Rick Mayer. Both are located in California.
I had a Rick Mayer on my KLR-650 and was very satisfied with it. I will probably use Bill Mayer Saddles (BMS) for the rebuild on my C-14, primarily because I won a $150. gift certificate from his business at the Beemer Shiloh Rally in TN last fall.
I believe any of the three rebuilders mentioned above can do a very good job for you. It comes down to who you want to go with.
