If you don't have a trailer hitch, then the installation is pretty easy.
Remove saddlebag lids,
Helps if you remove saddlebags, but not necessary,
Remove rear bolt on each grab handle,
Remove lower frame bolt that is under the grab handle bolt,
Bolt my brackets on using those two bolt locations,
assemble armrests (purchased elsewhere),
bolt armrests to my brackets, Done!
If you are running a hitch, it's not much harder than that. The lower mounting bolt has to go through: my bracket, frame part 1, saddle bag mount, frame part 2. For this operation, you might need to take the passenger seat off. Most of the hitches run a bolt all the way through with a nut on the backside. The stock bolt just screws into a welded nut on the frame. When you install most hitches, you drill out the welded nut and use a longer bolt with a nut. You need the passenger seat off to get to the nut. All this is explained in my instructions which are provided.
