Seafoam can't hurt you. There is also Smartron and Marvel Mystery Oil.
Tapping on the side of the float bowl with the handle side of a screwdriver will sometimes help temporarily. They usually stick for a reason, but I have seen other people tap on the carbs like that for years on cars and other motorcycles, because they don't want to take their carbs apart.
