"digress"? Did you mean "defer"? Anyway, here I sit with my $300 for motorcycle insurance. If I know $20 of it will wind up going to Moveon.org, it doesn't matter to me whether it's a personal or business donation. The result is the same. And, as you say, I have a right to do what I want with my own money. So I may choose to support, albeit indirectly, those organizations ... or not. I take no position here on that.
But I think it's worth being informed.
