I don't have experience with after-market brands, but the BMW OEM units work great. You will be glad you installed the grip heaters. I'll admit to considering them basically a gimmick until after using them. They make a huge difference and I've only used the low setting thus far. Above 32 the high setting is just to hot when using summer gloves.
