She opened her eyes. The same room greeted her and yet again, everything was new. The dull ache in her head and joints reminded her of coming in from ice-skating as a child.

Something small and plastic in her left hand beckoned her attention. Shaking, her arm lifted, bringing the laminated card close enough for her to read it.

“Your name is Adrian. Once you were the leader of a clandestine anti-terrorist group. After years of success, those you trained and trusted forced you from power. They poisoned you and placed you in a cryogenic state. You are safe now.”
