I get flashes of scenes in my head - usually with motion and emotion, but not much more than a line or two of dialogue.

I've got one I'm writing my way toward (slowly!) right now where I *hear* Nikita declare, "They're children! They'll die if we leave them here!"

Obviously - there will have to be a bit more dialogue than that! LOL!

For that - its mostly trial and error, especially with Michael - where I work to cut out all extranous words - to try to capture RD's presentation of Michael as extremely terse - even when if you read/listen to his actual dialogue, when he has occasion too - Michael speaks quite 'normally' in the sense of complete sentences strung together in (short) paragraphs, normal use of contractions, that sort of thing. So, I'm not even really duplicating the way he spoke in canon, but rather trying to capture in words on the page the *feeling* his line delivery conveyed.

I'm reasonably sure I don't always succeed!
