This week I'll point you to the essay that has lj fandom talking:

Cereta on fandom as female space, and the challenges to that space posed by unacknowledged male privilege.

Fandom and Male Privilege

I think it is a really well done explanation of both things; fandom as a female space, and the problems posed by normalized male POVs and standards. LFN fandom certainly has always been very heavily female, and in fact, though Cereta was talking about The Sentinel when she mentioned a show cancelled because it was drawing women, not the male 18-35 target audience - she could very well have been talking about LFN.

I'd be thrilled to hear anyone's reactions to the essay or the many (9 at last count) pages of comments.
