I just received the following email from wiboth about the passing of one of the truly great originals of LFN fandom...Zzoomama.

Dear Friends:

On Monday night, May 9th, Zzoo died during surgery. She had had some serious health problems in the last couple of months and had been in and out of the hospital since March. The short version is that apparently her aortic valve had ruptured and was irreparable.

Her daughter Laura (a/k/a Little Ishtar) asks that on May 18, 2005, when Donna will be cremated w/o ceremony, "you take the time to sit back, relax, drink a margarita and tell a Zzoo story. In lieu of any floral tributes I ask that you donate to the Mira Foundation (http://www.mira.ca/forms/don_memoire_an.pdf) it takes $15K to raise a guide dog to training age and so few pass the training, working with the LFN message boards she was able to collect a dog and a half in donations, let's try to persuade Pierre to name a puppy after Zzoo."

Shirleym tells me that Pierre is no longer w/ Mira, but Simon is, and she will be contacting him about Laura's naming request.

I know I've missed a lot of people here by this e-mail (I've e-mailed separately w/ Letta, shirleym, sac, tee, reyna, and willow). If you know of others who were touched by Zzoo as I was, I'm sure they'd want to know about this dimming of the sun.
