Thanks for all birthday messages, had good day, including the entire worcester rugby team singing for me, which was wicked! and then got out of work early and went for chinese with cov lot. was yummy, but dont worry have been to gynm since to wear it off!

i also did a taster of what the guys do in their training which included them challenging me to pull 75 kg of weights on a rope across the pitch and back....and i did it! they were quite surprised! legs ached abit after!!!

they won the match last night against leciester so all were happy, so they didnt make us work too hard this morning, so this 6 day week thing isnt going to be too bad i dont think.

anyway i'll shut up and see you tomorrow

Hi EVS,

Sounds like you are all keeping very busy, from what I hear along the grapeline, weeks later after events, when the news finally gets to the middle of no where (Or the West of Wales!).

Well done after all your Champs results.

I have a few questions/favours to ask...

1) I was hoping to source a video of the European Champs and the GB Champs if possible. I think Bill Philips usually takes one...? I am happy to pay for one/replace videos etc if I could get a copy from someone? Please RSVP!!! Thanks.

2) I was thinking of trying to find a buy a Christoph Roller. None of the fancy one's just the normal one that you use for your team and individuals. Any one know of any 2nd hand one's going around? Or if not any idea of the price of a new one?

Thanks muchly for any help.

Championships -- Wee County Vaulters, 20:19:01 10/19/05 Wed

Just to say thank you for an enjoyable competition at the weekend. It was good to see everyone however no doubt like us you'll all be looking forward to a break from competition as it has been a long season. John and the horses got back safely on Sunday evening. John is now out in Benbecula (Outer Hebrides) hence the delay in this message being posted. Henry and Brock were pleased to get out into their field on Monday although had appreciated the large stables at the weekend. Joanne made it to Stansted airport in time and is now mucking out horses in German. A great work experience!!!! See you all next year.

Hi all.

Just wanted to say thanks for putting on the championships and doing such a good job of it. Thank you to everyone who made us all feel welcome there.

It was great to see everyone putting so much effort in, supporting each other and having fun.

Many Many thanks for organising the competition and maknig everyone so welcome. The way every one supported each other was great to see. The Clwyd group enjoyed themselves immensley and several mums were reduced to tears at the prize giving not that I will embarass them by mentioning it. Vaulting starts at 2 PM (i.e. no morning session) on sat with G.F. team and pre-novice together
then big team 4-6ish, so later finish than normal,

I got my exam results on thursday - i so got into college (Wahoo, go me!) means i got no chance of coming to play with you guys again now :(

#Italy so far! -- Luci, 18:09:53 08/05/05 Fri

Hi everyone,

I've just got back from italy as i was only able to go 4 3 days. As got competition with jerry 2morrow, and hartpury with bruce all next week.

Got back at 3am this morning after 3 fab days. The place they are at is big, with big outdoor and then the competition arena, with is decorated very green with loads of plants and green paper, looks bit like mini jungle! on tues iit was really hot, and we did trot up and then they all did opening ceremony with included walking around the town......but it absolutely poured it down and they all got soaking! it was a massive storm, it rained for about 5 hours, loads of thunder and lightening, the outdoor arena and paths all turned into lakes, one of our gazebos collapsed where julie and emma had planned to sleep under so it ended up with 4 of us on the luton , julie on chair and emma on floor, all in the lorry! Then me, emma and my friend sarah, left on wed morn for milan. We went shopping all day, emma brought a fab bag very expensive bag. We saw loads of amazing buildings including this massive really famous catherdral, and ate yummy food, then went out in the evening and gate crashed a party in the middle of a park. We were rudely awoken early the next morning in our hotel, but was really nice to have proper shower and beds after the previous night. Then we went back to comp, watched ararate, then sarah and i had to leave to catch our plane home as she was workin today and i had 2 horses to exercise and a lesson on bruce at 10 am....(was very tired!)

in the end over the 3 days we worked out we had been in:
4 cars,
2 taxi's,
2 planes,
2 buses,
7 trains,
5 undergrounds
and 1 tram...
(oh and an italien paint van which we hitched a lift in down the 4 drive to the competition!!)
pretty impressive!

And they were all doing well. The temperature has gone back up after the rain and the ground dried up so no probs now, but the flys are horrenous! they are every where, poor tiny has bits all over her bum and emma looks like she had chicken poxs!

anyway that about it.

Re - Everyone,

You need your aiming for aachen T shirt & shorts for Monday and training leggings, preferably black or subtle colours - were not doing a demo, were doing a training session. Team catsuits will not be worn - nor individual stuff. The idea is to film us training.

If you want to bring more help you are welcome - more the merrier. Don't forget to do a good promotion of the Vaulting at the same tiime as flogging programmes !

well done all at weekend. I;ve just got back from cornwall where i went to visit my gran for 3 days and have managed to getr very burnt!!! glad im not doing freestyle this weekend, think it would hurt!

cant believe how hot it is, am enjoyin it lots!

Glad all from up north got home ok, sounds like u got back before me! i had dressage comp and we got back about 9pm! was worth the long day though as bruce won and jerry came 2nd in his class which wasnt bad for first time out!

Just to let you all know that Ricenda from the College phoned today and thanked me for the cleanliness of the stables, she said we had left the the cleanest anyone had ever left them and thanked us all very much, I think it was Lucy P and Sarah R that did mine and David I think might have helped but whoever did them thank you and well done, the Scots left theirs in excellent condition too so well done Vaulters for gaining a good reputation !!

Well done everyone competing at the Selection trials, it was very good to hear such positive remarks from the judges on the growing standard of vaulting in GB. SEVT 7.586 EVS 7.581 well done both teams . as for the girls thats Liz, Sarah, Joey, Ann, Sarah R and Lucy P all over the mark of 7 , which including the new technical test is very impressive and a massive improvement from the beginning of the year. Just shows you what hard work can do ! Thank you all for coming and good look to all in Italy - at least the heat at the weekend was a good dummy run ! A report and full list of results will be on asap. p.s. hopefully Bowler and Henry can have a week off now !

Hi all, hope everyone has recovered nicely, me still bit tired, but think it is all the early mornings this week. My fellow work colleiges are amazed at the perfect hand print bruise i have on my arm...well done Lucy P didnt know u were able to be so artistic, is quite cool, like a 2nd tattoo!

You'll be pleased to know that our new team mascot- BOB is save and well, he made the journey home well without any major upsets or soil spillage and now is in my bathroom. Pippa has the responsiblitily of looking after BEN the pink flowered friend, who came home too, though that one was looking a little worse for wear after being attacked by pips jacket on journey to lorry and then nearly being eatten by gofast when we got back!

Well done all, i reckon GB may have made a bit of an impact for once! see u all sat

HI Everyone,

Just to add my Well Done to all of the British Squad at Saumur, we were all brilliant !!!!! I think the Germans are worried !!!

Horses back home at 2 yesterday and turned out in the field for a couple of hours, thanks to all our supporters, thanks to all you vaulters and the brilliant horses and a massive thanks to Wendy for getting us there and back in one piece in her wonderful lorry.

Now onwards and upwards !

British Open display at Sheffield - we are on at 2.35pm. We have practice time in the morning so I need the vaulters early. We are staying in Wendy's lorry Thursday night and will be home early Friday evening.

Liz Watson, Sarah Reid, Lucy P, Pip, Ricky and Steff will need a sleeping bag and pillow for Thursday night, the rest will be here on Friday. Fish & Chips Thursday night and our wristbands will get us in to watch the evening performance. Any other questions can wait till Saturday at 1pm please, see you all then.

HI GUYS

Just to let u know i'm all in one piece after yesterday, nothing exciting to report, bruce was good, jumped well and i didnt fall off.

Only minor injury is that when we finially did get home i fell out the lorry as it was dark and the steps were still up,i had loads of stuff in my hands and it was a proper comedy moment! and as a result have the biggest bruise on my bum! better than any vaulting bruise so far!!

so see you in week hopefully, start at warwick hospital tomorrow, so see how it goes.

Just to say thanks to everyone for turning out yesteday, especially the Scots and the Welsh, much to cold to hold a competition ! but thanks for coming, hope you all got home safe.

Well done all of my lot, especially Josh and Kim you were wonderful ! Well done you big ones for looking after them, mum took some nice photos so we'll put them up as soon as poss. Good work everyone else, all the scores were good, well tried all of you. Now we'd better start working ! Horses all home safe, thanks Sandy. All out for a little while in the field today but as i type this it's snowing, so they wont be out for long !

See you all at different time this week, I'm here if anyone has any spare time , all three are being clipped on Wednesday but will be finished for the evening - hold on tight though!

Big well done to Go Fast - she was an angel, hope Liz got a nice photo of her. Well done Sarah and Lucy, as usual you were great with the new horses.

Hi Individual compulsories are at 10 am and team is at 11.50, freestyles start at 1.30 for individual and 3.30 for team. prize giving should be about 4.30 if all goes to plan.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd let you all know how well everyone went today. We now have 4 extra new level one coaches in EVS, Emma Runge, Susi Shortland, Lissi Taylor and Alex Pemberton all sailed through their exams. All trained the little ones all afternoon and they got on very well. Moira Pemberton and Liz Phillips both sailed through their level two and lungeing exams and David Owen also sailed through his lungeing exam. Well done everyone you were all great. I expect to take even more of a back seat now!

Lovely to have Ricky back today, he looks just as good after his break and seems to be vaulting refreshed! He is coming on Friday morning again. Little ones are looking forward to the competition at Moreton Morrell so see you all at the weekend for practice.

Off to Rome in the morning, so don't call me. Front page looks good Liz, thank you, love the photos. All of you need to update your info page. Lets have a fresh look for 2005!

i've just found out that the week after the selection trials in stow 18th and 19th of june i have like 7 of my a level exams! great. starting on monday after and i have a maths exam on the afternoon on friday which is the day of my leavers ball! how bad organizing is that?! i am going to be soo dead. i have my last exams on the 28th so i can leave to Bern after then. there is a flight 18:55 june 28th from luton which is £12.99 thats the best one for me. we need to book them soon cos the prices are going up though.

The Vodka team ? is this right ? on at 1 o'clock on Saturday till 5pm training with Ararat ( No 3 ! ) please bring a healthy snack as you will be shattered. The cost will be £35 each. If you want to get here for 12 you can watch and listen in to the new Technical Test Training for future reference , this will be used at the Selection trials so it's very important. Wear plenty of layers as it will be freezing ! Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Just to let everyone know, our hero John Blake has been awarded the "Herefordshire Sportsman of the Year " well done John ! I really am most put out that Tiny hasn't been asked to the awards ceremony though! Guess the chairs aren't big enough. Well done John we are all very proud of you.

Hello! I was just looking at a few vaulting websites and I stumbled into yours. You'd never guess by the way I look that my ancestors (on my Mom's side) came from England. So, it was fun looking at your photos. Please take a look at the AVA site and look for me! I wish I could post a few recent shots so you can see me like I have seen you. Are those 2 girls that are pictured (head shots) twins? In about a month or two, my friend's mom will be finished putting together a brand new vaulting website that will feature a look at the Sundance vaulting club that I was a part of until our sponsor gave it up last year.Our club was huge and Mrs. Cooke gave so much of her energies and enthusiasm to so many kids through our wonderful sport of vaulting. In fact, without her, I would never have traveled to Europe as many times and met so many great people. I have always enjoyed my friends in vaulting so much. And I love going to Europe to compete. Mostly, I have visited countries south of you. I only hope that I will get to go to England some day! Perhaps on my honeymoon, although I think I might go back to Hawaii every chance I get because I was born there. My parents moved to the mainland to California so that I could have more opportunities. They never imagined that I'd end up in a sport like vaulting. I was born to vault.....How about you all? Best wishes to all of you and if any of you come to a CVI here, do look me up! My mom and I say VAULT ON! (I only say that because she said it "tongue-in-cheek" the AVA adults say that.
