I agree with you. I can't believe that a judge would not understand that a husband would want to be with his wife just in case she goes into labor.
I got out of federal court by asking if court was wheelchair accessible? They didn't answer my question, or perhaps they did by excusing me. Maybe your husband should tell the court if he cannot be with you then you will be with him in the court, then ask if they have a Maternity Ward?
No, really, I would call them back. Maybe a misinformed person answered the phone the day your husband called. Try to talk to someone else in the clerk's office. Surely they are not all Court Jesters.
