Celebrate the 4th, AGAIN!

Each year the Jackson Center of Independent Living (JCIL) celebrates the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with what we call Another 4th of July because of the INDEPENDENCE the law has given people with disabilities. This year we are celebrating 3 days, the first being a Disco Ball sponsored by WNWS 101.5 Talk Radio at the Garden Plaza Thursday evening July 24 at 7 PM.

The main event will be Friday, July 25 with dinner, guest speaker, introductions, awards, Music, ASL Classes, and maybe a tour of interesting spots in Jackson on an accessible tour bus. Our guest speaker is Troy Justesen, a wheelchair user and a White House Aide on disability issues for the President.

We invite you to have an exhibit and join us in the celebration. There is no charge for nonprofits. Already scheduled are Handicap of Jackson, Handicap Unlimited, DBH Attachments, Madison/Haywood Developmental Center, Star Center and United Way of West Tennessee.

Entertainment will include Ross Wine-Sky, Nashville singer/songwriter.

On Saturday, July 26 we will have a July 26 Picnic in Gibson County, location to be announced.
