This is the Birthing Creek. It is here that all of the Shady Springs foals are born. It is a peaceful place with lots of soft grass to lay on. A small creek runs through it which makes a pleasant soothing sound. It usualy helps to calm the nervous mares when they foal.

~Sunshine trots in, thinking~
It's too soon
~Because, yes, it was too soon. She stops immediately the pain intensifying and moving down her body. She neighs out to Tsunami~
"Help Tsunami!"
~Still knowing there is only one way out of this, to birth the foal, she pushes with all her might. Soon, a little light chestnut filly falls to the ground with a plonk. Sunshine turns to lick her filly, wishing that Tsunami was here to see her~
"Tsunami!"
~She calls to her mate. She was just about to lick her, when she became dizzy. She was bleeding uncontrollably from where her daughter was birthed. She lays down again in the same position, letting her mane fall under her well porportuned neck. She was dizzy, so dizzy that she couldn't determine reality and dream. Everything was swirling. She was walking down a passageway, at the end there was light, she walked into the light...
~Mercury studied her body, parts of the placenta still hanging of her skinny body. She sniffed at her mother, whom lay motionless and still. She nuzzled her, wondering what's wrong. After ten to fifteen minutes of waiting for her mother to move, she calls out to anything or anyone~
"Help my Mommy!"

*Tsunami canters in urgently after hearing his loves desperate call*
Surely she cannot have given birth yet? It hasn't been that long at all...
*He thinks, but he was wrong. He see's a small chestnut filly sniffing Sunshine. His love for Sunshine was too intense to welcome the foal; Sunshine was laying there, covered in blood. Her normally glossy chestnut coat was copper red with blood*
"Sunshine!"
*He rushes over to her, everything happening at once*
*He halts beside her and goes down on his knees, knowing it too late to save his only love*
"Please, wake up!"
*He whickers to her in desperation, knwoing that she would not wake. He rises, about to walk away, not wanting to stare at his dead mate, but then remembers the filly. He turns to her*
"Come, little daughter"
*He says weakly, making her follow him back to the emadow*

Labour -- Kuali, 00:08:53 07/31/03 Thu

*Kuali trots and lies down on the springy snowgrass, the foal ready to emerge into the beautiful world. She breaths heavily, knowing the foal will come soon, she yells out in desperation to Danny*
"Danny! DANNY!"

Where's Danny?....I can't wait any longer.....
*She thinks, and a few moments later a cute little blue roan filly lands behind Kuali*
*Kuali starts to lick her dry, wondering what a good name would be, after discussing it with Danny of course. Eventually, when she is dry, she stands up with her wobbly legs and ventures over to the little soothingly stream that runs through the meadow. Kuali has trouble seeing where the little cutie is, because she is such a deep blue roan colour that she blends in with the water*
"Now, little angel let us go find your daddy"
*She says and gives her a tap on the rump with her muzzle in signal to follow her*

Foaling -- Sunny, 19:35:01 07/26/03 Sat

*Sunny limps in, wincing at the pain her contractions were causing her. She lays down on the soft grass breathing hard. Lifting her head slightly, she whinnies weakly.*
"Crown!"
*Hoping that he could here her, and would come to keep her company, she flops her head down again, grunting softly.*

*Sunny nickers softly to Crown, glad to be supported by him and Cache during this difficult time. The contractions coming tighter than before, she breathes with great difficulty, and her usualy golden coat is dark brown from sweat. Then in one painful moment it was all over. Relief washed over her as she saw a healthy little colt laying on the grass behind her. Licking him dry, she looks up at Crown and Cache beaming with pride.
"It's colt! What should we name him Crown?"

Crown thought for a moment. "You know, I had a secret launguage with my friends as a young colt in the Starry Hills. Champion is Arato in that language. I think that's a good name. What do you think?"

*Sunny beams at Crown.*
"That sounds perfect!"
*She licks Arato's coat dry noticing as she does, what a special colour he has. He was golden as his sire and dam, but as he dried small steaks of red were visible in his mane and tail. Bumping his rump slightly helping him up, Sunny got up herself.*
"Come on little one, let's go home."
*Walking slowly she exits The Birthing Creek. All the while nudging along her wide-eyed little colt.*

Birth -- Beauty, 02:22:47 07/27/03 Sun

*Beauty trots in desperate this time to have a normal birth without fire. But the extreme pain in her abdomen exceeds her will to trot, and she lay limply on the ground, not concerned of her bruise of where she fell. She wanted to wait for Sonic but she had to push.....she had to push....*
*She wanted to keep it inside her, all warm and snuggly in it's placenta but he instincts overcame this feeling quickly.....*
*With a push, a heave, and a laboured neigh a handsome little colt is born. She licks the muck of her cute little boy, which is a light grey hued coloured body, with dun marking on it legs, neck and rump with a beautiful black and chestnut mane and tail*
"Well, let's find your big sire then...."
*She says to her little boy and gives it a little nip and the rump*
*He does a little jump, surprised of his mothers nip and looks up at the clouds. He stares at them, feeling so igsignifigant agaisn't those huge fluffy cottton buds. He does a little rear and extends his front right leg in attempt to touch them*
"Mummy what are those white thingys?"
*He says questioningly, cocking his head slightly*
"Those are clouds, dear...you shouldn't be able to rear yet, your only ten minutes old..."
*Beauty whickers surprisingly, then gives him a little nuzzle and he squeals loudly then starts walking fastly toward the meadow*
He's a wild one
*She thinks apphressively*
I'm gonna have a ball raising him
*She thinks excitedly, then catches up to him and heads toward the meadow*
