Actually I hear very good things about the new Star Trek film which seems to have successfully recast all those iconic original roles. Maybe if all the Buffy roles were recast, enough time had past and it was done well enough it might work. However a film in the nearish future with most of the original stars but not SMG? I can't see it happening.
