Subject: Okay, I've done some research, and this team actually has more experience than "Orgazmo."
In reply to: Eurydice 's message, "It'll be brilliant! After all, they produced "Orgazmo"" on 22:34:51 05/26/09 Tue

The Kuzuis themselves aren't the most experienced, but Vertigo Entertainment has made some significant movies in the past few years. Their most notable movies include the US remake of "The Grudge," the Sandra Bullock/Keanu Reeves romance "The Lake House," the Nicole Kidman horror/scifi movie "The Invasion," and the zombie movie "Quarantine" from last year. These people might actually have the resources to make a decent film.

And that won four freaking Oscars.

Optimism isn't in the spirit of the franchise - everything has to be doomed, doomed, doooooomed....

Be brave. Watch. For me.

Okay, so they do have the money.

Now, can they get the Joss?

And since SMG has worked for them before, and is perhaps still peeved at Whedon might she do a cameo, maybe showing up in the the last five minutes as her future self?

If they go the prequel route she might serve the same role as Nimoy did in the new Star Trek.

...but it would be great to get him involved, even if only to get the hardcore fans to stop whining.

I think the best thing they could possibly do would be to bring him on as a consulting producer, and get permission to use the character Angel. I think that most hardcore fans would be appeased by that, since Buffy and Angel are the two most iconic and recognizable characters in the mythos.

But yeah, I don't think even that's entirely necessary. The fan outcry that's erupting over this really is overblown, and it won't amount to much when it's time for it to open in theaters. The general consensus on the internet a couple months ago was that the Wolverine movie was a worthless cash-grab, and it opened #1 at the box office and the studio is scrambling to give it a sequel and its own spin-off.
