Subject: Good Monday morning, boardies
Our character of the week is Glory. Here is her grand entrance. Some powerful force beats down a heavy metal door. We expect a monster. We get one, but she looks like a petite blond woman. We should be used to super-strong petite blonde women, shouldn't we.
Why do I feel compelled to put in this picture of Ben?
Glory's scabby minions started preparing the breakfast. The DawnBot thought better of that and chased them away with her stungun. That took long enough for the other Bots to fill the kitchen. We don't have to worry about DawnBot's cooking either. Ask the Bot of your choice for what you want. That can even include food.
Hey, this is the GMT. Deep stuff comes later.

What's your favorite SHALLOW moment with Glory.
My favorites may not be that shallow. They come when something big, like a truck or wrecking ball, passes through the space where Glory is. Glory gets knocked right out of the scene. So cool. The spell by Willow and Tara was nice too. You remember the one that left Glory several hundred meters in the air ending the episode with "Oh, sh..."

I did like the almost-innocent girliness in Glory. Those moments came so close to her true evil, though. They did make good comic relief.

Too short though. I went to a barbecue at a friends house on Saturday, which was lots of fun, and saw the Fantastic Four yesterday.

the most exciting part of the weekend was a thunderstorm. It knocked out our power for an hour. I'd just figured something out for the fanfic and was ready to write. The hour got boring - and that was the most exciting thing of the weekend.

AotD: I loved the scene where she was in the bubble bath and making her minions look away.
It was a big gardening weekend. My yard and gardens are looking good again after a very neglectful July, during which my across-the-street neighbor was so in fear of the damage I was doing to my gardens that he watered them for me on a regular basis when I was out of town (we had almost no rain the entire month of July). It's raining this morning, though, and hot to boot. So, happy high humidity!

I know how the garden thing goes. We've had it dry here, too. Yesterday we caught a hard scattered thunderstorm - scattered all over our yard. It even knocked power out for an hour (just as I figured out a key plot point in the fanfic - grrr.) It's still drizzling this morning. The predicted temperature for this afternoon is 96F. Happy steam bath.

Our high sounds just like yours -- 96! Imagine it being as hot in MN as it is in TX! I actually don't mind it hot as much as many do, because I'd rather have this than 0 and snowy . . .

You and MTsFan are making me jealous with your stories of the heat. It's very up and down here, on Saturday I was wearing a fleece on my way to the gym, yesterday I was sitting in the garden sweltering in a t-shirt. I will never understand Irish weather.

I had typed a response to you this morning, and it seems to have disappeared into the ether . . . weird. You really shouldn't be jealous of this heat -- it's kind of miserable heat. But the weekend was gorgeous -- very warm, but not humid and with a breeze. Perfect summer weather. I do hate it when the weather's inconsistent, although we can get a lot of that here, too.
Things are starting to settle down a bit. Last week was crazy with me trying to pick up all the threads of my RL after a lovely vacation from it! But I've almost got all that under control now. I do miss my sweetie terribly, though. We won't be able to see each other until towards the end of this month, and that's hard. We talk a lot on the phone (we have one of those deals where it's free between his cell phone and mine), and so we talk three or four times a day, most of those for just a few minutes to touch bases, and we're finding that's a nice way of sharing our days even though we're far apart. We're figuring out how to make this work. It's so very definitely worth it.

The transformation scene with Ben ending up in a red strapless dress is a favorite. As is Glory's reaction to the fact that Buffy "turned us down" for a date.

I'm very happy today because I just found out that The Thin Man series (all six movies) is out in DVD. Yay!
But it's still Monday, and there's still class. Bleah.
