In reply to: Daniel King Oon 's message, "Imagine that you were starting a business and that you had the power to design your own product" on 16:46:24 03/09/03 Sun

I am a young entrepreneur (age 23) who started an in-home and in-clinic personal training company in Mississauga, Ontario.

I have a background in health and fitness as I graduated from Queen's University with a PHED degree and I am a certified Kinesiologist.

I have read your book and commend you on your vision and clear writing style.

I have a particular vision on having personal trainers and kinesiologist's stationed in all alternative medicine clinics, including massage therapy, chiropractors and a variety of health care practitioners. This could work like a franchise which is still controlled by my company or take on a different format, depending on the wants and needs of the health care provider.

My problem is that few people, including those in the health care profession understand my vision and want to work with me. I am finding it extremely frustrating and do not know where else to turn.

What I am looking for is your advice on how to get people to listen to me due to my young age and the fact that what I propose is a revolutionary idea. Everybody wants proof that it will work before giving me a chance to prove that it will work.

I was hoping you might be able to help me find a mentor that believes in my idea and the fact that we are on the verge of a wellness revolution. I want to be a leader in the industry and not a follower. Is there any advice you can give me, or do you know of anybody who may be able to guide me in the right direction.

I found what you said in your book brilliant and am inspired by the fact that you too were a young entrepreneur.

Thank you in advance for ANY help you could provide me with. I know you are a very busy person but if you could spare a few minutes of your time to help me, I would be extremely grateful.

Sincerely,

Julieta Loeffler
