I used to use Sta-Bil on all my toys until I plugged an idle jet the first year I owned my '03 during winter layup. Took the bike out in the spring for a 20 mile run and it just wouldn't run on all 4 cylinders until the main jets opened up. I have plugged pilot (idle) jets on other bikes before, so I figured I would have to pull the carbs and clean them.

Then I read about Sea-Foam and how if I mixed some in the gas that it could dissolve the plugged pilot jet. I was skeptical, but I thought why not try it. I mixed a heavy dose into the gas tank and ran the bike for about 5 minutes to make sure the mix made it into the float bowls. Then, I let her sit for a couple of days. Imagine my amazement when I went to start her and she idled on all 4 cylinders! That little can save me a ton of labor tearing down carbs, cleaning, reinstalling, etc. Now, every winter before layup she gets Sea-Foam. Haven't had a problem since.

I believe that if you have never plugged a carb jet, sooner or later you will. If you do, try some Sea-Foam; it just might save you a lot of headaches.
