Second that on the Shell Rotella 15W-40. I read on this forum that this oil does not have any additives that could contribute to clutch slipping. I have ran it ever since without any problems, and I will continue to do so.

That said, I think these bikes have tough engines that aren't typically abused with high rpms. I believe the high revs sustained for long time periods are when you need the extra protection of the high dollar synthetic oil. If your second bike is a crotch rocket that has a rev limiter at 14,000 rpm and you are bouncing off of it on a regular basis, get the expensive synthetic oil. The way I drive my XII, it never sees half those rpms.

The last thing we Voyager owners should worry about is wearing our engines out. I never hear much about any type of premature engine wear. These engines appear to be bullet proof. Run whatever oil you have had good luck with. I will continue to use Rotella in my Voyager.

Just my humble opinion.
