I haven't cut down my Voyager windshield but I did a Vetter a few years ago. I put masking tape were I wanted to cut and drew my lines on it than I used a Dremel Mototool to cut it. If you cut it right at eye level the rain will pass right over you. If you still have your old windshield you could cut it too, that way the scratches will not effect your vision.
