Definately change the fluid in the clutch system as well as the rest of the fluids. However, be VERY careful if you are going to change clutch disks. Every indiviual bike has different thickness of plates and they must be mic'd so they can be replaced with the same size. They are built to a total "stacked" height at the factory. At any rate it's not likely that the clutch plates are bad. I think carl Leo has 300K on his bike with the same clutch. I would try the clutch fluid changes first, engine fluid change next and if that doesn't work only then inspect the clutch disks. I think that year also has some some "star" type slipper springs in the clutch to make engagement smooth and if they are broken this will cause slippage. Would suggest calling our garu Carl Leo for suggestions. He is a plethera of information.........Gator Mike
