Subject: Damaged oil filter

I have a serious problem. Drove over a speed bump and smashed my oil filter bolt on a 2001 model.Oil filter and bolt and all oil on the ground. I quickly shut down.The bolt was intact, but a large piece with the threads broke off inside. No way to get this together again. I live in a remote area with no dealers around.Does the lower engine unit have to be replaced?Has this happened to anyone? My beautiful bike is dead. Any suggestions..thanks..Rod
