Subject: 88 voyager and the dreded starter chain issue?

hi, Im thinking about puchasing an 88 voyager. I owned an 87 about 7 years ago and had the dreaded starter chain issue and it cost me about 3k to get it fixed. the 88 voyager im looking at has about 37k on it. Im wondering if this model has had problems with the starter chain breaking? I searched and couldnt find much about it. any advice would be very terrific. thanks :)
