Subject: radio presets

I just got my 2001 Voyager up and running after a long, cold winter here in upstate NY and everything seems to be working fine except for the radio presets. After disconnecting the battery for winter all the old presets are lost. Here is what I "thoughht" I had to do(no radio manual). I manually move the station to the one I want(can hear it fine), hit the memory button(shows on radio screen), push the channel I want until memory symbol disappears from screen, and the let go of channel button. It doesn't work. Is my "memory" shot or is there something wrong with the radio?
