Jack,

Check all the plug ends/connections on the helmet cord. If you have the stock Y-Cable there will be 1 for the pass, 1 for you & 1-2 under the false tank(cord runs along left side of frame tube)
Any may have H2o or corrosion in it and may be causing the problem.
Check the simple things first. Maybe as simple as this, otherwise it may be the amp...
