Duke, I discovered the same problem as you about a month ago and it turned out to be fork oil leaking past my seals and running down the leg. It made a small puddle about the size of a quarter on the garage floor. I only use Bel-Ray oil and it has a green tint to it, but in small quantities appears clear. I have no experience with any other oils as far as their colors. Also, brake fluid and fork oil have different feels, textures and smells.

If it's brake fluid I would check the following: a) watch level in site glass, b) check bolt where hose attatches to caliper,c) make sure bleader screw is tight, and d) check to see if fluid is leaking around piston seal in caliper. This last one will require taking off the caliper for better inspection.

If it's fork oil check a) the drain screws are tight, b) lift up the dust seals and see if oil is puddling on top of the fork seal, c) if the lower tubes feel oily where oil may be running down the leg and d) that the allen screws in the bottom of the fork tube are tight. This will require removing the front wheel as they are under the front axle. There is a small copper washer that may be missing or damaged.

Just because the seals are new, doesn't mean they didn't get damaged on installation. I know this one from experience (stupidity).

Good Luck...Dave
