I am also in the market for tires, and I am interested in the Conti's. They are priced around $30 less per tire than Avon or Metzeler brands.

Is it really possible to get 27 to 30,000 miles on a set of Avon or Metzeler tires? That is an amazing amount of miles on a set of tires? Especially for only $30 more per tire.

My original rear Dunlop 404 has 12,000 and I thought that was great mileage for a cheap OEM tire. I keep max pressure in at all times, and mostly ride 2-up. If it wasn't chopped so bad, I think the tread could go another 4 to 5000 miles. Will an Avon really go double this amount of miles?

Let me know.
