I got 26K out of my first set of Avons, then 28K on 880's, then back to Avons for 27K and then 31K on the second 880's. Then last year I went with Elite 3's and only got 17K and HAD to replace them. Now going back to Avons, but only because the 880's were on backorder. They were both the same price.
If you're getting that kind of mileage on the OEM 404's you'll get WAY more than I did. Most I've talked with get about 6K to 7K out of those.
At any rate, when you get something else on there you'll surely think you have a completely different bike.
