Subject: Update - The Duro's are on the bike
In reply to: Craig O 's message, "Everybody love a good deal" on Thu July 23, 2009 8:01:55PM

As promised, I wanted to update everyone once the new Duro's Touring tires were installed on the bike. Quite simply, these new tires are great so far. Extremely quiet, awesome grip, and absolutely no front tire "hunting", where the bike tends to wander like it did with the stock Dunlop 404's.

I haven't used them in the rain yet, but with the aggresive rain sipes I can't imagine this to be a problem. The only thing I am not sure of is how long they will last. But, at this price if you have to replace them every 12 - 15,000 miles, who cares? I have read on other posts that even though the Metzlers, Avons, and Dunlop touring tires will last a long time, the ride quality is severly diminished long before the tread wears out.

If I have any problems with these tires in the future I will let everyone know. My friend is so impressed with the tires that he is ordering a set from Jake Wilson for his Voyager XII, and I am thinking about ordering a spare set. Thanks again Marlowe for the tip!
