This means your ground wire for the thermostat is not making a good connection. MANY have had this problem. I've not heard of anyone's fan not working because of this. You'll need to get in under the airbox and battery tray to get a better ground on the wire. You'll find complete directions for this on the XII tech pages of the AVA website.
