They do blow quite hot.. Two possible "answers"..
One is highway pegs.. On the engine protection bars.
The other is there is a plan on the AVA web site for clear perspex engine shields to enclose the engine.

At the next change, replace the coolant with Engine Ice coolant.. Make sure your carbs are balanced too..
