My experience has been that with the two vent hoses on the carburetors they will dry out over the winter on their own over time. That is why some of us have installed a switch to bypass the starter motor and activate the fuel pump to keep the carb float bowls full. It also aids in starting after the bike has sat for a while with out cranking the engine until the float bowls fill and allow the engine to start quicker.
