Dont forget that the BATT light is NOT an alternator light. It is a Battery Acid level light.
If that light is coming on, either your Battery acid level is low as sensed by the wire that connects to the middle of the battery . (Normally a yuasa bayyery) or if you no longer have that sensor because of an after market or non sensor battery, the wire that originally went to the Battery is now strapped to +12V , normally located on the Orange wire on the turn signal relay attached to the metal strap that hold the battery down..
There is NO Alternator light on the stock Voyager ZG1200
