Subject: Brake light switch

When I release my front brake handle, the handle doesn't always return quite far enough to turn off the brake lights. Since I realized this is happening, I've gotten into the habit of just tapping the handle outwards with my fingers after releasing the handle to make sure the brake lights are off.

I've looked for any type of adjustment for the switch, but haven't found one. Does this mean that I need to rebuild the master cylinder to correct this problem?
