I had to do some body work on the same area of mine, so had the same issue. However, I opted for just adding a decorative highlight using the secondary bike color (silver) which I could match up at my local auto parts dealer. Kept the repair area small and unobtrusive. Good luck, my sense of decor is not to be trusted but its what makes you happy.
