The gears in the XII transmission are square cut making them very strong, however, it also makes the transmission shift with a clunk as the gears mesh. I don't know if yours is bad or not but I suspect it is normal operation. They really let you know when they go into gear ..........."Laisez les bon temps rouler!"..........Gator Mike
