I've never heard of clutch springs going bad all be themselves. While they do play a big part in a clutch hooking up,usually, they slip because of glazed plates. What kind of oil are you using? I had a buddy put STP oil treatment in his bike one time and it was so slippery that the clutch wouldn't hook up at all. After switching back to regular oil all was ok again. If you have it apart try cleaning the friction plates with acetone and put some fine sand paper on a piece of glass(to keep it perfectly flat) and rough them up a bit. If that doesn't work then I'd replace the whole clutch along with those new springs.
