Subject: 1986 Starter chain or tensioner / Anyone know the story

I have read that the 1986 ZG1200 has problems with the starter chain and or chain tensioner breaking and it is only the 1986 models. I called a local kawasaki dealer with my vin# to see if any warranty work was done for this problem... but no warranty reacalls came up for my VIN#.

I just purchased this bike used with 19k miles and it is a great ride , I do not want to have to sell it this spring in fear the starter chain may break at any momment while I own it.
Sounds like the whole motor has to be removed and split in half to fix the problem.
