Subject: 30K Mile Inspection Questions

Performed the 30K inspection and maintenance as per the repair manual, have a few questions:

1. Is it necessary to check the air suction valve? If yes, where exactly is it? Book is unclear.

2. Book says to check head bolt torque, is that necessary? I gather the valve/head cover has to be removed to check them? Does upper fairing have to come off to get the head/valve cover off?

3. Book says to check Carb Synch, bike seems to run great, plugs were all burning the same color, that light brown good burn color, should I mess with this? I do have carb stix, will I need adapters to hook up to the carbs or are they built onto the carbs? Book seems to hint at that? Should I just leave it alone since she is running great? I am used to BMW and Moto Guzzi carbs, 2 seperate carbs, synch by checking that the slides are opening at exactly the same time and adjust mixtures on each, does this Kawasaki carb setup have one slide for all carbs or 4 individual? What are the adjusting screws for in the carb synch procedure, is that mixture?
