Subject: Bouncing front end

Hi folks, got a little problem with my front end (also with the voyagers)LOL. When traveling on a smooth road it rides great. If there are slight bumps in the road the front end bounces stiffly over them. It feels like the bumps are transmitted directly to the handlebars and it makes it difficult to see things in the mirrors . It all most feels as if the shocks aren't absorbing the bump. If I take my wifes 750 over the same road and it rides like silk. To date I have static balanced the tire, changed to progressive springs with no air, measured the oil in the front forks and lowered the tire pressure from 40 to 36 pounds per suggestion of Carl Leo. The Avon tire has about 4K miles on it and doesn't seem to be worn much. I would appreciate any suggestions
.....Thanks for your help...............Gator Mike
