Subject: different muffler styles

Since I purchased my 86 a year ago, I have spent alot of time browsing pictures of other voyagers. Something I noticed and have not read any comments in the forums about are the different styles of mufflers. I have noticed three distinct styles. The one which is shown in the parts catalog on bike bandit, which is fat until near the end and then exits in a single straight tube. Then I see bikes that have the exhaust which exits with two small tubes turned down. Finally I see one like what is on my bike. More of a one size along its entire length and then turns down at the end. What I want to know is, are all three of these stock mufflers or am I seeing after market, and is there any significant difference in the sounds they produce?
