Hi Barry. I know it seems strange that a corporation like Kawasaki would actually pay engineers to design a machine like the Voyager. Mine has just over 70K on it and I still wonder sometimes if there isn't something one could do to stop that whine. At 70 mph it turns into a deafening scream in my bike. Common belief among those of the voyager nation is that the noise is caused by the non-helical gears on the balancer shafts. That scream and the Ker-Chunk everytime I shift gears are the only two complaints I really have about my Voyager. Just follow the advice in the previous posts and enjoy the ride. Happy Trials, Max
