Subject: Odd Rattle is back

My rattles back, I drove across the border to New Jersey last week and on the way back my rattle became a constant companion. up I87, across I90 up I81 and across the 401. 7 hours of it. I think I know what the is problem though. There is no longer any clearance between one of the inner headers and the bottom of the engine. How much clearance should there be and does anyone know why I lost it? I've not gone over any bumps big enough to push it up.
